I was a research scientist at MPI for Intelligent Systems, working with Dr. Michael Black. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Dr. Sung Yong Shin at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), where I solved a hard technical challenge in the reflection separation problem based on physical properties of polarization. Now I joined Samsung Electronics and work on deep learning and vision based technologies.

My research focused on the estimation of intrinsic images from video, which are intermediate representations between image pixels and our physical world. Examples include surface material, illumination, shape and motion. The outcomes were published in top venues (see Intrinsic Video; Intrinsic Depth).
